Yahoo! India has appointed Namit Pandey as director and business head of classified, local search and small business after former director of sales, Pearl Uppal, put in her papers.
Currently serving her notice period, Uppal says, “I will switch to an entrepreneurial role and join an online retail business, funded by European and Indian investors as a co-founder and chief executive officer.”
With over 10 years of experience, she started her career with General Electric in 1999 before moving to Rediff.com the following year. Uppal joined Yahoo India! in May 2002 and was in charge of the monetisation of Yahoo! India properties across display, search and mobile space.
New appointee, Pandey was previously serving as the vice president and general manager, Middle East at Monster.com. A founding member of Jobsahead.com, he has a work experience of more than 14 years. Pandey will be operating for Yahoo! India from the Bengaluru office.
