The US-based start-up, venture capital-funded Purple Fire Films has appointed senior freelance journalist, Bollywood celebrity publicist and Internet Marketing and Branding professional Flynn Remedios as its India Media contact, spokesperson and publicist.
While Purple Fire Films India (PFF) sets up office in Mumbai, Flynn Remedios and his Content and Branding Outfit Futuristic Media Network will also oversee their business requirements in terms of casting, co-ordination, logistics and recruitment. PFFI is expected to have a fully functional and staffed office in Mumbai by February or March 2009.
Flynn Remedios is also the official spokesperson for mega-brand, item queen and Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant and has spent about 15 years as a scribe in publications like Showtime, The Economic Times, The Sunday Observer, The Asian Age, Free Press Journal, Current magazine, Gentleman and others. He is also the author of a book titled The Double Offer which exposes the unholy nexus between Bollywood and the underworld.
Purple Fire Films has about 15 medium-budget film projects on its drawing board and has signed on 15 new, upcoming artistes and about 5 debutante directors who will direct its film projects. The first of its film projects are expected to hit Indian cinema screens by Diwali next year.
According to Flynn Remedios, the philosophy at Purple Fire Films is to promote new, fresh and budding talent. “We are trying to make good commercial movies with decent, yet affordable budgets and want to give new talent an opportunity to showcase their aptitude and flair. Keeping this ideology in mind, we have signed on 15 new female artistes for varying roles in our projects and are looking forward to taking on board many new qualified directors and artistes.
Purple Fire Films will also venture into TV programming and Multimedia Broadband Content Development by the end of 2009. “For now the focus is on producing good yet affordable cinema,” said Flynn Remedios.
