Saleem Mobhani, the COO of Hungama Mobile has put in his papers. Mobhani was with Hungama for the last nine years.
In an official communiqué, Neeraj Roy, MD and CEO of Hungama Digital Media said, “Mobhani has opted to take up another assignment. Over the years, he has contributed a lot to Hungama.”
Mobhani is a computer engineer and has about 18 years of experience across mobile, internet and banking domains. He joined Hungama in 2000, when the company acquired IndiaFM.com, a Bollywood portal co-founded by Saleem and Suleman Mobhani in August 1997. In 2008, the site was re-branded as BollywoodHungama.com.
Mobhani also worked with Development Credit Bank for about two years, where he accomplished the Y2K transition and conceived and set up the disaster recovery management programme for the bank. He has also worked on establishing the Internet banking system for Development Credit Bank.
Hungama Mobile was started in 2001 and offers solutions related to mobile marketing, apart from mobile content, such as wallpapers, ringtones, videos, themes and applications. The company claims that it provides mobile content to consumers across 32 countries — including North America, the United Kingdom, the European Union, South Africa, Australia, Germany and South East Asia — through 104 mobile operators.
