Rajiv Jaitly has joined Indian Express as president, marketing. Prior to joining IE, Jaitly was president, marketing and advertising sales, Dainik Bhaskar Corp (DB Corp).
He had joined DB Corp in February 2008, when he took over the function from Girish Agarwal, Director, DB Corp.
Jaitly had been managing strategic marketing and ad sales for the media business of DB Corp. He had led and brought about synergies between state and national sales to leverage the group’s strengths.
Prior to joining DB Corp, Jaitly was with Bharti Airtel as CEO for the Punjab circle. It was during his tenure with Bharti Airtel that Delhi became the first circle to achieve a million customers.
Jaitly has 24 years of professional experience in the media, FMCG and telecom industries. He holds a Master’s degree in business administration with specialisation in marketing from Long Island University.
He began his career with Citicorp, New York, as a management trainee. Some of the organisations that he has been associated with include Modi Xerox, Star TV, MESAT Broadcast Network System, Pepsi Foods and Data Access.
