Prasana Krishnan has been promoted to the post of COO, a newly created post at Neo Sports Broadcast.
Prior to taking up the new responsibility, Krishnan was EVP, strategy and business development, Neo Sports, where he was involved in various functions including strategy and business development, corporate and acquisitions, amongst others.
Krishnan will take up his new role with immediate effect and will be based in Mumbai. He will report to Harish Thawani, chairperson, Neo Sports. Neo Sports Broadcast owns and operates two channels, Neo Cricket and Neo Sports.
Following the promotion of Krishnan, there will be an internal movement from the current resources of the company to take over the job responsibilities handled by him so far.
Krishnan who has been associated with New Sports since 2006, whil speaking about his promotion he said, “Neo Cricket achieved the No.1 status in 2008. We plan to consolidate our leadership as well as drive audiences to our other channel, Neo Sports.”
He has over a decade’s experience, this graduate from Delhi’s St. Stephen’s College also has a Masters degree in Finance and Control from Delhi University. At 36, Prasana has worked mainly with the media and consulting sectors. He started his career as senior investment analyst with The Economic Times. His previous assignments include Bennett, Coleman & Co. and Arthur Andersen.
The launch of two sports channels, Neo Cricket and Neo Sports, from paper to implementation has been his most challenging assignment so far.
