Pepsi goes low with calories

Afaqs: PepsiCo has taken an initiative to replace carbonated drinks with low calorie products in school. The company has decided to stop supplying high sugar carbonated drinks to both primary and secondary school and looks forward to completely stop it by 2012.

PepsiCo aims to swap their carbonated products with non-carbonated drinks and low calorie beverages similar to Tropicana and Gatorade. “PepsiCo wants Gatorade to be a post-sports drink that students can consume after a strenuous sporting session, and Tropicana, of course, is just for a drink that both primary and secondary school children will enjoy as a health drink. We may add new low sugar products to our portfolio,” said a source close to the development.
