Nitesh Tiwari, executive creative director, Leo Burnett, has been invited to judge the New York Festivals (NYF) 2009 for the Radio Promotion and Programming category.
The sub categories for the Radio Promotion and Programming category include News Programmes, News Inserts, Information/Documentary, Entertainment, Talk Programmes, On-Air Talent, Craft and Technique, Programming Format, Morning Drive Time (Breakfast) Programming, Promotion Spots and ID’s, Online, Satellite, Audio Podcasts and Student.
Tiwari has previously judged events like the GoaFest and AdFest.
Tiwari says that a winning entry will have a novel idea, make full use of the radio medium and will have great execution. He adds that due to the market conditions, there may be a fluctuation in the number of entries from each agency but he assures that Leo Burnett will participate in all the awards.
The NYF has also roped in KV Sridhar, NCD, Leo Burnett; Agnello Dias, partner TapRoots India; and Kamlesh Mehta, senior creative director, RMG Connect, as jury members for the Television and Cinema Advertising, Print and Digital and Interactive categories respectively.
The NYF awards recognise work from 71 countries in all media including television, cinema, print, outdoor, interactive, design, mixed media, collateral, radio and student advertising. In 2008, the awards witnessed a 23 per cent increase in entries submitted over the previous year.
