Nilanjana Purkayastha yesterday resigned as Business Head at Sahara One. She joined the channel in May 2008. Purkayastha confirmed her movement but refused to divulge her next destination.
During her tenure at Sahara One, she was reporting to Seemanto Roy, Head, Sahara One Entertainment Business. Purkayastha was previously associated with NDTV Imagine, which she joined in 2007. She has also worked with Star Plus as Creative Director.
Sahara One Media & Entertainment has witnessed several departures in the last few months, starting with Sharmista Rijhwani, the then CEO, and Kalyan Sundaram, Head of Programming for the channel, both of whom resigned at around the same time. It was during that time that Purkayashtha was appointed Business head for Sahara One channel.
