The Advertising Club of Bombay has successfully organised the EMVIEs for the past eight years which recognises outstanding Indian media initiatives. This year it will feature the bronze awards which will be announced at the event and will be presented after the awards ceremony.
Out of the 14 award categories, eight are for Best Media Innovation and four are for Best Media Strategy. The awards for the former are given away in the areas of Television, Radio, Print, Direct Marketing, Ambient Media/Out of Home (OOH), Digital, Cinema and Events while the four media strategy awards are reserved for Consumer Products, Consumer Durables, Services and Media/Media Property.
The Best Integrated Campaign and for Best Media Research cover the last two award categories.
With 18 nominations – the maximum by any media agency – at the EMVIEs, Mindshare, a GroupM agency, looks set to repeat its last year’s success at the event when it won the maximum number of awards.
Maxus, another GroupM conglomerate, is placed second with 10 shortlists while Madison Media Infinity, of the Madison Group, is third in line with eight shortlists. Lodestar Universal and Mudra Max round up the first five positions, with six and five respective shortlists to their name.
The 18 Mindshare nominations include entries for some of its Unilever brands such as Surf, Wheel, Pond’s, Dove, Sunsilk, Lux and Axe and some PepsiCo shortlists for Nimbooz, Kurkure and Frito-Lay. Boost, STAR World, Virgin Mobile and KFC make up the rest of its nominations.
Maxus has gained the second spot through its range of Titan brands including Tanishq, Fastrack and Sonata and other shortlists for Nokia, Vodafone, Reebok, Indian Premier League (IPL) and Tata Sumo Victa.
Parachute Advanced, Cadbury (Perk, Bournvita, Celebrations and Dairy Milk), Tata Tea and Saffola have clinched the third for Madison Media Infinity while Lodestar Universal came in fourth with Tata Nano, Radio City and Amul ice-cream.
Mudra Max is fifth in terms of nominations for Park Avenue, Hindustan Times and TVS Scooty.
Mediacom has three entries for Gillette Mach 3. Mediaedge:cia and Mates-Madison Teamwork FP & E Pvt. Ltd have two nominations each.
The Starcom MediaVest Group, Madison Media Plus, Tribal DDB India, TME, P9 Integrated and Digital Radio (Mumbai) Broadcasting Ltd have one shortlist each.
