Bigadda gets Celebrity Blogging Courtesy – The Big B

Amitabh Bachchan’s new movie, Bhoothnath is about to hit the theaters. And the big man himself is resurfacing after his ghostly avatar! The Big B’s blog on BigAdda.com is soon to be a sensation. www.bigadda.com is a social networking site of Reliance Entertainment. Siddhartha Roy, COO of BigAdda.com indicated that the Big B “…wanted a platform to reach out to his community and share his thoughts, views and stories about his work, social and cultural life.”

But would the blog just have a ‘ghost’ AB but no real input from the superstar himself? How would a person of his stature have the time to post stuff?! Siddhartha said that AB would not only write posts but moderate the comments on his blog. We can expect to see videos and images in the near future but as of now, there would only be text posts. Good enough for us!

Last year, it was Aamir Khan who created some waves blogging on his personal website (www.aamirkhan.com) opting out of the blogging platform space. With AB blogging on www.bigadda.com, he had this to say“Bigb.bigadda.com allows me to express myself, share and reflect on my emotions, thoughts and opinions, and listen to what people have to say to me and show them the real side to my larger than life image that they see through media. It’s a platform which I can control and share my own drama on without anyone editing or interpreting my thoughts. What’s most important for me is that I can now share consequential replies to the inconsequential gossip that do the rounds. I have always wanted a platform where I can speak for the truth, which is always stranger than fiction.”

Visit the blog and you’d find four posts as of now which also includes interviews! A promotional advertisement of his upcoming film, Bhoothnath, can also be perused on the blog. It wouldn’t be wrong to ask Siddhartha whether all this would mean more celebrity blogging. However, he said that “… (bigadda.com) is not planning to rope in more Bollywood celebrities for blogging as of now. And there are no intentions to monetise the blog.”
