The award-winning ad films from the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival-2008 were screned amongst businessman, industrialists and advertisers from Aurangabad.
The screening was presented on Friday evening by The Times of India- the official representative of the Cannes Lions in India in association with the Chate Business School, Aurangabad in Aurangabad.
The festival has the largest gathering of advertising fraternity world wide. The biggest festival to date counted more than 10,000 delegates from 85 countries and the speakers at the workshop and seminars included industry giants like Rupert Murdoch.
Pranab Majumdar, GM (Response) and Branch Head (Pune), TOI, said, “Over 28,000 most creative advertisements from across the world were showcased. The categories were films, print, outdoor, interactive , radio design, sales promotion, media direct and integrated. The TOI has been promoting the event for more than 15 years. We assist and co-ordinate entries to Cannes Lion Festival.”
Majumdar felicitated Gopichand Chate, president of the Chate Business School and welcomed the gathering that included commissioner of police K L Bishnoi, district collector Sanjeev Jaiswal, industrialists Tarang Jain, Ram Bhogale, Raghvendra Joshi, Vivek Deshpande, Cdr Anil Save, Ulhas Gaoli, Rahul Pagaria, Sanjay Kasliwal, Ved Jahagirdar, Umesh Dashrathi, Ashish Garde, Nilkanth Nagpal and representatives of advertising agencies.
“It was a simply superb experience for all of us; we have been introduced to new tenets of the world of creative advertising,” said Chate following the screening, which was kept alive by Signature and Kingfisher companies.
