Next month, Triveni Media Ltd will launch its Hindi news channel, TML-Voice of India (TML-VOI). This Hindi news channel will be the broadcast venture of Triveni Infrastructure and Development Co. (TIDCO), which has stakes in real estate, automobiles and the hospitality industry. Triveni Media Ltd’s chairman and managing director Madhur Mittal had said that the test signals for the channel were successfully conducted and that the VOI team was working hard to ensure things happened quickly and smoothly.
Madhur also indicated that the channel name ‘VOI’ signified a direct contact with the viewers with the focus on “…for the people and of the people.” Keeping a distance from an image of a know-it-all, Madhur claims that VOI would reveal the true voice of the people.
With five regional news channels to be launched, everyone should be happy. We will be seeing VOI Bangla, VOI Gujarati, VOI UP, VOI Rajasthan and VOI Madhya Pradesh. These will not be launched together but rather in phases. There are also plans to launch a premium lifestyle luxury channel in English and another one dedicated to music. The channel’s main target audience will be in the age group of 16-35 years; a focus on the young, the dynamic and the youthful.
Gopika Chowfla Design created the logo and said that they wanted to…“…imbibe movement, be colorful and at the same time symbolize power.” The design seems successful and Mittal mentioned that the logo has a lion’s face framed in a six color ring. The logo will also work for TML’s regional channels albeit with customary modifications.
TML has short listed some creative and media agencies for the news channel. It will choose its partners soon. Gopika Chowfla Design, Aqua Communications Pvt. Ltd and India News Communication Ltd are the prime contenders while the media duties contenders are Mudra Max, The Media Edge (TME) and MediaPros.
