IPL 3 Finale fails to set a new record

Afaqs: The Indian premier League’s third season finale failed to break the records created by the first two seasons. The final match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings managed to record a TVR of 7.3, as per aMap data for C&S, 15+, six metros.

This is the lowest ratings in all the finales. The first season finale garnered a TVR of 8.7; while the IPL 2 finale, between Deccan Chargers and Royal Challengers Bangalore, garnered a TVR of 8

The final match of the third season was watched by approximately 9.7 million viewers; whereas the finale of the second season was watched by approximately 11.7 million viewers.

Going by the viewership data, Chennai viewers did not seem to be very enthusiastic. The match garnered a TVR of 7.5 in Chennai; while in Mumbai, it recorded a high TVR of 13.1.
