Afaqs: My FM radio channel a stable of Synergy Media Entertainment, a wholly owned company of the Bhaskar group has promoted Harish M Bhatia from chief operating officer to chief executive officer.
Bhatia has been part of FM family since its launch in 2007. He had joined the organization in the capacity of business head.
Pawan Agarwal, director, Dainik Bhaskar Group, shares, “Bhatia has been associated with My FM since the very birth of the station three years ago. Under his leadership, My FM has made a mark as the largest non-metro network, witnessing the fastest launch of 17 stations. This development stands for My FM’s trust and appreciation of Bhatia’s effort in taking the brand forward.”
Agarwal calls Bhatia an agile, versatile and multi-tasking individual, who has been spearheading innovations within the brand and the business operations. He credits Bhatia for the dynamic performance of My FM.
Commenting on his new role, Bhatia says, “I’m very keen on bringing in some more positive changes at My FM. The radio industry is under a lot of pressure right now, with the third phase of radio licensing hanging in mid air. Whether the industry’s issues get resolved or not, radio stations will have to look at evolving in the coming times.”
Bhatia also hinted at expansion of the business through the newly launched activations division of My FM, calling the task at hand an interesting and challenging opportunity.
