The national creative director, digital of Rediffusion Y&R, Karl Gomes has put in his papers after working for the agency since November 2008.
Gomes had switched to Rediffusion Y&R after working for Arc Worldwide, the integrated marketing arm of Leo Burnett, as the executive creative director, digital for over a year. At Rediffusion, he offered and carried out digital media campaigns at the agency.
Commenting on this development, Gomes says, “As of now, I am taking a brief break from work and in the days to come, I will decide what to do next.” He confirms that he will stay in the digital media space.
With over 13 years of experience in the industry, Gomes began his career in 1996. In 2004, he was appointed as the design head at Digital Branding
Solutions, a Mudra Group venture and later helped the agency to start the digital arm of Mudra DDB, Tribal DDB India. In 2007, he quit Mudra as the national creative director and moved to Arc Worldwide. The following year his campaign on Luxor Highlighters won a bronze Cyber Lion at Cannes.
He was also a jury member at the Cannes International Advertising Awards and the Cyber Lotus at Adfest in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
