Saurabh Kanwar, VP, content and communication, Channel V has resigned after having spent almost three and a half years at the channel. He is currently serving his notice period.
Confirming his resignation Kanwar said, “Yes, I have put in my papers. I found a good opportunity and I took it.” However, he refused to reveal his future plans, saying it was still premature to disclose them.
Kanwar joined Channel V in 2006 from Radio City, where he was the head of marketing. He was with Radio City for 11 months. Before that, he had worked with Walt Disney as head, sponsorship marketing.
Kanwar’s resignation closely follows the revamping of the music channel after it announced new reality shows and changed its baseline to ‘Bloody Cool’ last month.
Prem Kamath, senior VP and GM, STAR India, said, “He has been with us for more than three years and it has been a fruitful experience for both him and the channel.”
Kamath added that a replacement for Kanwar has not been thought of yet.
