Lavanya Anirudh has been appointed as VP by Dentsu Communications,she will be heading the Aircel business and would be responsible for consolidating Aircel’s business and its brand nationally. Lavanya moves from Ogilvy India, where she had worked for a decade. Based in Delhi, Anirudh would be reporting to Rajesh Aggarwal, President, Dentsu India.
Confirming her appointment Aggarwal said, “We look forward to Lavanya joining Team Dentsu on our Aircel account. We are certain that her rich FMCG experience will infuse much freshness to communication in the telecom category.”
Explaning about the decision to leave Ogilvy India which was a difficult one after a decade, she said, “The challenge on consolidating Aircel’s business and its brand nationally and being a part of the great Indian telecom story was motivation enough”.
Anirudh with nearly 13 years’ experience in the industry began her advertising career at IB&W as an account executive before moving to Percept Hakahudo, where she worked on the Honda Siel Cars and Hero Honda Motors accounts.
She joined Ogilvy India, in 1999 where she worked on the Dabur Amla brand. She played a pivotal role in the work developed by Ogilvy for the award winning Incredible India campaign, which won several accolades, including a Gold at the PATA Awards, and a certificate of merit at the Effies.
At Ogilvy India, Anirudh was working as the Business Head on the Perfetti Van Melle portfolio of brands that included the Mentos Dimag Ki Batti Jala De campaign, which won a Gold at the Effies, and the Mentos Helpline, which won the Yahoo Big Idea Chair in 2007.
