Arindam Sengupta will be moving from TBWA Bengaluru and will take over the responsibilities of Amarnath Pingalay, the outgoing head of TBWA’s Chennai office.
Vishal Ahluwalia, senior VP, South, TBWA India, says, “Sengupta’s move comes as part of a larger exercise, wherein we are consciously creating a richer talent base in the South to meet the needs of our clients there.”
Chennai services major clients such as Henkel, Sify and Style Spa, among others.
Sengupta has more than 12 years of experience in the industry. Earlier, he has worked at Lowe, Saatchi & Saatchi and Mudra.
He started his career in 1997 at Lowe Lintas and worked on the Unilever (then HLL) and Kissan accounts. Later, he also handled the Britannia account. After four years at Lowe Lintas, Sengupta moved to Saatchi & Saatchi, handling brands such as Tata Tea and a few others. Subsequently, he worked with Mudra (Peter England and McDowell’s accounts), before joining TBWA in 2005.
Sengupta has spent five years in TBWA and looked after the Bengaluru branch. In his expanded role, he looks forward to follow disruption as he did in Bengaluru. He said, “My mandate is to sustain the existing businesses and grow the brand in the South.”.
Shiv Sethuraman, CEO, TBWA India Group, said, “While we are sorry to see Amarnath go, the bench strength in the management team is excellent and there can be no better candidate than Arindam for the role.”
