Starcom IP, the digital arm of Starcom MediaVest Group which has recently relocated Suyesh Shankar from Singapore to India as national strategy director, has now appointed Yuzdi Badhniwalla for the newly created position of general manager, India.
Badhniwalla will report to Ravi Kiran, CEO, South Asia and Pushkar Sane, chief digital officer, North and South Asia, Starcom MediaVest Group.
Badhniwalla moves in from Mauj.com, a telecom solutions company of the People Group, where he was heading the consumer marketing function and was involved in building relationships with the channel partners. He was also managing the mobile gaming part of Mauj Mobile.
He will be based in Mumbai and will lead Starcom IP teams across India.
Speaking about his new role, Badhniwalla said, “My mandate is to get more clients and convince the existing clients to increase the ad spend on digital media.”
In an official communiqué, Sane says, “We are bringing in diverse talent spanning strategy, media, content, analytics and technology as it will help us in winning the digital game in India.”
Badhniwalla is an alumnus of the Indian School of Business. He has a little over a decade’s experience in the media and Internet space. He has worked with the Times Group and Rediff.com, where he was involved in the launch of Timesclassifieds.com and in scaling up Rediff P4C classifieds.
