Times Internet Ltd (TIL), the digital arm of Bennett Coleman and Co. Ltd, on Wednesday said it had signed a partnership deal to run the Indian version of US-based news website Business Insider.
“We have many loyal readers in India, so making it the site of the latest international version of Business Insider makes a lot of sense for us,” Henry Blodget, founder and editor-in-chief of Business Insider, said in a statement.
Business Insider, which launched an Australian version last month has 15 million monthly visitors worldwide.
Times Internet will be Business Insider’s exclusive partner in India for content development, events, monetization, and syndication.
In January, Times Local Partners, launched by Times Internet to help it partner with global digital companies, announced a partnership with Gawker Media, another US-based online media company, to bring the Gizmodo and Lifehacker websites to India.
Bennett Coleman, publisher of the The Times of India and The Economic Times, competes with HT Media Ltd, publisher of the Hindustan Times and Mint.
