Tide breathes a sigh of relief

Afaqs: At last the expected has happened and tide can now breathe a sigh of relief. The controversial Rin V/S Tide ad has finally banned. As per the interim passed by the Kolkata high court, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) is restricted from airing the ad and warned against making similar ads in future.

The court stood by P&G’s detergent brand Tide Naturals and believed that the advertisement is inappropriate and disrespectful. According to the statement released by the press, Sumeet Vohra, marketing director said, “We are pleased that the Honorable Court supports our view that the recent Rin advertisement is misleading, and the comparison made by HUL in their Rin advertising is false and incorrect.”

Vohra further adds, “It is very heartening to see the court uphold the breaking of certain rules and guidelines that all advertisers have been following in this country thus far.”

Despite the controversial ad, there has been good support from consumers as well as associates who have been constantly writing to the tide expressing their trust in the brand.
