Sujoy Ghosh has been elevated to the post of director and business development head, Response, West India, BCCL.
With this, he becomes part of the core group and think tank of the Response department of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Prior he was in the position of deputy director, Bennett, Coleman & Co.
Ghosh will continue reporting to Bhaskar Das and will be based out of Mumbai.
He has been associated with the Times group since 1993, barring a one year stint at Shoppers Stop during 1994, as deputy GM, marketing.
Ghosh has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Calcutta and completed his Master of Management Studies from University of Bombay. During his 23 year career, he has been associated with Forbes Campbell, Apple Industries, The Times of India and Shoppers Stop.
At BCCL, he was handling the office of deputy director for the last two years. With more than 800 personnel reporting to the deputy director, Ghosh was responsible for a total revenue generation of over Rs 1,000 crore per annum, a contribution of over 48 per cent to the top-line of the company.
For the record, the Response department is the media sales wing of The Times of India Group, which has an annual turnover of over Rs 2,500 crore. BCCL is the largest media house in India, with brands like The Times of India, The Economic Times, Femina, Filmfare and others under its umbrella
