Shalini Dam, executive creative director, Grey Worldwide, will soon find herself in a new role. According to informed sources, Dam will take over as Grey Worldwide’s national creative director in India. As ECD, Dam is currently looking after Grey South East Asia.
Dam takes over from Priti Nair. Nair’s post as Grey’s NCD was vacated about two months ago, creating speculation about her successor. Dam joined Grey Worldwide in 2000 and has since then worked on various brands such as Hindustan Times, Domino’s, Medimix Soap and Revlon.
For the record, Priti Nair recently quit Grey Worldwide after having worked there for a little less than a year. She joined Grey Worldwide in September 2007 from Lowe, with the clear intent to transform the agency’s creative function following a few management reshuffling and exits. The Greenlam account shifted from Lowe to Grey at that point.
Prior to joining Grey Worldwide, Dam was working with Leo Burnett for a while. She has also had stints at TBWA and Contract.
According to media reports, Nair is believed to be in talks with BBH (Bartle Bogle & Hegarty) which is all set to make an entry into India soon.
