Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has been appointed the Indian brand ambassador for Levi Strauss’ ‘Signature’ collection.
Kapoor has signed a one-year endorsement deal for the brand which can be further extended. The first campaign with Shahid Kapoor will be shot sometime next month.
Levi Strauss & Co – India country manager Shumone Chatterjee commented on what Kapoor will bring to the brand, “India is a strong growth market for our brand and signing on Shahid as its face will help us create a closer connection with our young audience,”
Prior to Kapoor, Deepika Padukone was the Indian brand ambassador for the Levis Strauss Signature brand. Her contract ended in December 2008.
Another Bollywood actor who is associated with this jeanswear is Akshay Kumar, who endorses Levis 501. He has already shot an ad campaign for its summer camp collection. His contract ends in 2011.
