Sanjib Dey, EVP, Saatchi & Saatchi Delhi, has been promoted as President, Saatchi & Saatchi India. A source close to the development confirmed the news.
In his new role, Dey will report to Kamal Basu, CEO, Saatchi & Saatchi. He will continue to be based in the Delhi branch of the agency.
Dey joined Saatchi & Saatchi in March 2007, after Alok Lall who had just quit the agency. Earlier, Dey was vice-president, Lowe, since August 2006.
Dey is a graduate from MICA and started his career with Chennai based Fountainhead Communications in 1993 as an account executive. He then moved to Everest, Delhi in 1995 as senior account executive. He moved out of the agency in 1999 as account manager.
Dey then joined Saatchi & Saatchi for a short stint as group manager on the Tata Tea and Panasonic businesses. In 2000, he moved to Bates 141 (then Enterprise Nexus) as account director. In 2002, he joined Grey Worldwide as client service director in 2002. Subsequently, in 2004, he moved to Bates 141 (then Enterprise Nexus) again for a second innings, this time as general manager.
In December 2005, he moved to Capital as VP. After a short stint at Capital, he joined Lowe as VP on the LG business in August 2006.
Over the years, Dey has worked on various brands such as Bharat Petroleum, Hyundai, Mother Dairy, Tata Tea, Panasonic, Radico Khaitan’s 8 PM and Magic Moments, Sony Handycam, Revital, Aviva Life Insurance and Pepfiz.
