Sportswear major Nike India called for a pitch process for a new creative partner last year, in keeping with Nike’s global affiliation communication strategy.
The last phase of presentations took place in January 2009. However, following the process, it has decided to remain with its current agency, JWT India. The account size is in the region of Rs 80-100 crore.
An industry source close to the development has confirmed the news and added that Ogilvy & Mather and Wieden+Kennedy also participated in the pitch process.
JWT Bangalore won the Nike business in June 2005, following a multi-agency pitch. The company beat O&M in the final stage of the pitch. Since then, JWT has been involved with Nike right from the brand development in the country to enhancing the brand’s presence in the Indian market, for all Nike products, which include footwear, clothes and accessories.
