Mohit Hira has joined NIIT as head of e-learning – retail. Hira left his previous post, at Times Internet (Indiatimes.com), in September.
At Times Internet, he managed brands such as Indiatimes.com, Indiatimes email and iTimes.com, a social networking site, as well as the marketing of all the Times Internet websites.
Hira has about twenty-two years of experience in the marketing and advertising industry, and has worked on advertising, print and Internet. Of his seventeen years in advertising, he spent sixteen at Contract where his responsibilities ranged from creative to account management. Hira ended his advertising career in 2003 and moved to Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd, where he worked as brand head for Navbharat Times and the Delhi edition of The Economic Times. He was appointed director of Times Internet, the Internet arm of The Times of India Group, in 2005.
