Hemant Sachdev to join Microsoft India as joint managing director to lead its recently created division, zonsumer and Online International (COI).
Sachdev is moving from the Bharti Group, where he was working as group director, brand and corporate communication.
Sachdev has more than 20 years of experience in managing operations, retail and strategic marketing. At Bharti, he is part of the chairman’s apex team and was responsible for building the Airtel brand.
His significant recognitions include Marketing Professional of the Year (2002), India’s Achievers and Leadership Award for Excellence (2004), Best Marketing Strategy of the Year – Retail (2004), and India’s Top Marketing Director Award (2006).
COI was formed by merging the consumer facing businesses of Microsoft. It includes consumer software, Windows Mobile, MSN and the online services and search businesses.
