Manoj Malkani has joined MPG, a part of Havas Media, as VP, Mumbai, where he will be reporting to Jyoti Bansal, Executive Director West & South MPG. Malkani moves from Dentsu Media, where he was VP, Media, for a year.
On Malkani’s appointment, Anita Nayar, CEO, MPG, said, “Mumbai is saturating as a market and needs increased workforce, so we needed a person like Malkani to take the Mumbai market forward.”
Malkani said, “I joined MPG because it is a good opportunity to learn and grow under the strong leadership of Anita Nayyar in a growing company. I look forward to increasing the sheer volume of business and also the effectiveness of services provided to the clients.
Malkani comes with a rich experience of more than 14 years of working with top organisations. He had earlier worked with GroupM Mindshare, where he had headed buying as Senior Investment Director on the Aditya Birla Group business. A strong hand in consolidation of the whole business of the Aditya Birla Group, Malkani was transferred within the system of GroupM, Maxus, heading the account of Hero Honda in Delhi as Senior Business Director.
He has also been involved in the reconstruction of Carat in 2005-06, working with the core team of Pradeep Iyengar and Shripad Kulkarni, and later again joined Carat heading the alliance between Percept and Carat for their clients after a stint with Starcom as Group Head Buying.
