Afaqs: The Jury at the Cannes Lions International Advertising festival this year has Ramanuj Shastry, chief creative officer, Saatchi and Saatchi and KV Sridhar (Pops) national creative director, Leo Burnett.
KV Sridhar will judge the press lions while Shastry will be a jury for Film lions. Mark Tutssel, global chief creative officer, Leo Burnett worldwide will be the jury president for both the categories. Last year we had Abhijit Avasthi national creative director Ogilvy India and Taproot India co-founder and chief creative officer Agnello Dias as the jury for Press lions and Film lions.
In conversation with afaqs!, Shastry says, “I am looking forward to being part of the greatest celebrations in advertising, and expect to be wowed and inspired by the work that I shall come across.”
KV Sridhar feels that things will be more challenging this year due to the global circumstances. He says, “In the trying circumstances that we have seen, I am expecting creativity to thrive. There might be less work than before, but in terms of quality, I am certain that it will be better. I am hoping I shall see more interactive work at the festival.”
The Cannes Lions International Advertising festival will kick start on 20th June this year and go on till 26th June. With the judging going on simultaneously during the week, the press winners shall be declared on 23rd June and for Film lions the result will be out on 26th June.
