WPP recently announced the winners of the WPPED Cream Awards 2008.
The Awards were given away at a recently held ceremony in New York. JWT India kept the country’s flag flying high at the internal awards of WPP, bagging the Crème De La Crème for ‘Lead India’ campaign.
The WPPED Cream Awards recognises the best work produced by WPP companies in all disciplines across eight categories – Advertising, Direct, Design and Branding, Interactive, Media, Public Relations and 360. The award-winning works have been published in a WPPED Cream book and are found on its website.
JWT India’s Lead India campaign for The Times of India bagged the WPP Crème De La Crème in the Direct and 360 categories. This is not the first recognition for the Lead India campaign, earlier in the year, the campaign had bagged the Direct Grand Prix at the Cannes Festival 2008.
Robyn Putter, Jury Chairman for the 360 category, commented, “Not surprisingly, JWT Mumbai’s inspirational campaign for ‘Lead India’ was the outright winner, after winning the Direct Grand Prix at Cannes. This campaign combines all the disciplines to create an event that truly moved a nation.”
However, the agency did not limit itself to the Lead India campaign. JWT India was also the winner for GM Pens International ‘Twin’ campaign in the Advertising Print category. While the other highly recommended agency campaigns from India were Ogilvy India, Contract India and Rediffusion Y&R.
