Goswani conferred with ‘Assamese of the Year’ Award

Editor-in-Chief, Times Now and television anchor, Arnab Goswami, has won the ‘Assamese of the Year’ Award for 2009. The award, which carries a citation and cash of Rs 2 lakh, was presented to him by Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi at a function organised by News Live channel on its second anniversary on January 21, 2010 in Guwahati.

Goswami, a Post Graduate from Oxford University, has also won an Asian Television Award for best news presenter as the host of one of the longest running news programmes on air. He is also known for his book on POTA, ‘Combating terrorism: The legal challenge’.

On the occasion of the first anniversary of News Live, a television news channel of Assam and the North-East region, music maestro Dr Bhupen Hazarika was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009.
