The owner of the Bharatmatrimony.com, Consim Info Group, is eyeing to tap various niche segments within the matrimony market in India.
The company has created and unveiled about 250 matrimonial websites such as Kayasthamatrimony.com, Agarwalmatrimony.com, Brahminmatrimony.com and Nairmatrimony.com targeted to tap consumers who look for brides and grooms in their own communities.
All the different 250 websites will have dedicated domain names and URLs. To make the community based search of brides or grooms simpler, the group has also developed a portal and an umbrella brand, Communitymatrimony.com, through which a user can reach all 250 matrimony portals.
Murugavel Janakiraman, founder and CEO, Consim Info, said, “We have figured out that a majority of Indians want to marry in their own community and Communitymatrimony.com will enable them to do so in a comfortable way.”
Surprisingly, Consim Info has decided to keep the database of members of Bharatmatrimony.com and Communitymatrimony.com separate. In fact, Janakiraman adds that the group has floated a separate company named Community Matrimony Pvt. Ltd to run its community based matrimony sites.
This is not the first time that the Consim Info Group has created a matrimony site for a niche target audience. In fact, the group had unveiled Elitematrimony.com in December 2008 to enable high net worth individuals to search for brides and grooms. Earlier, the group had forayed into language based matrimony sites such as HindiMatrimony.com, TeluguMatrimony.com, KeralaMatrimony.com, GujaratiMatrimony.com and PunjabiMatrimony.com under its Bharatmatrimony.com umbrella.
For the new website, the group plans to follow the same revenue model it uses for Bharatmatrimony.com, its key revenue earner. It allows users to register for free but charges a fee when members contact each other.
The group will use banner and search marketing to build and create awareness about its community led matrimony sites.
