Chandrasekhar quits Airtel

Afaqs: R Chandrasekhar, head – brand and media at Bharti Airtel, has called it quits. Industry sources believe he might take up a marketing role in Reliance Mobile or join a financial services company.

In the three years that Chandrasekhar has been with Airtel, he has played a pivotal role in building on the brand’s emotional connect. He has also worked with other big names like Britannia and Marico in his highly successful 13 year long career.

Bharti Airtel Limited is one of Asia’s leading integrated telecom services providers with operations in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Mobile, telemedia, enterprise and digital TV are the four strategic business units of the company.

Among these, the mobile business offers services in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and the telemedia business provides broadband, IPTV and telephone services in 95 Indian cities. The digital TV business provides direct-to-home TV services across India while the enterprise business provides end-to-end telecom solutions to corporate customers and national and international long-distance services to telcos.
