Broadcast revenues touching the sky – Thanks to IPL 3

Afaqs: IPL season 3 is the biggest hit of its series. The game has managed to pull in more fans and viewers this time unlike the previous years. The Ficci- KPMG Indian Media and Entertainment industry reports that this year the game will generate 44 percent more revenues on SET Max the official broadcaster for IPL matches.

Although the average TV rating has been low in the second season (5.6) compared to first (6.6) the season 3 is all set to make it even bigger. The revenue of the team seems to increase in short term, due to enhanced revenues from central and local sponsors, ticket sales and from merchandising and licensing.
