Ad Club’s New Initiative “Young Achievers Award”

The Advertising Club Bombay has established properties such as the ABBYs, EFFIEs, M.Ad Quiz, Ad Review & Media Review over the years. However we at the Ad Club always felt the need to bring the young talent below the age of 30 years or with less than 10 years of experience, in the forefront and actually recognize their efforts by awarding them at an exclusive function.

Thus we institute a new award “THE YOUNG ACHIEVERS AWARD”.

It will be a night to applaud the budding talent of the industry hence the event will be organized, planned & executed in a very innovative way with a touch of irreverence. Scheduled at the Ball Room of Taj Lands End on Friday, 22nd August, 2008 at 7.00 pm this whacky & fun event is all set to rock.

Young Achiever’s Award will have two segments of Awards:

SET I: Creative – mix of copy, art, film makers for the following categories :

  1. Art Director
  2. Copywriter
  3. Most Creative Person
  4. Movie Maker

SET II: Business – mix of CMO’s, CEO’s across industries for:

  1. Business Leader
  2. Brand Marketer
  3. Media Person
  4. Digital Person
  5. Sales Person

We have lined up 4 Associate Sponsors namely:

The Awards Chairperson is Sunil Lulla who will overview the efforts of the new Shadow Committee of the Ad Club that has come to be known as YOUNG TURKS. The Young Turks are:

To ensure that the quality of judging is of the highest standards, we have taken care in developing an exclusive panel of judges.

The Judging date: Tuesday, 12th August, 2008.

Venue: Odyssey, Mayfair Rooms, Worli, Mumbai.

Time: 9.30 am

We would like to mention the judging process in brief.

The judging process:

  • The jury will consist of seven to eight judges per category.
  • There will be a Chairman of the Jury for Creative & Business Categories.
  • Creative & Client professionals of repute will be invited to be Judges.
  • The winners will be arrived at by a show of hands.
  • There will be one award per category and nine in all.

Part 1:

  • The score sheet given to the judges has a column for the marks to be put accordingly. They write their name and sign the score sheet.
  • The jury members will score against each entry (no decimals pl.)
  • All entries will be rated on a 1 to 9 scale by each judge. (Judges will not score for the work of their colleague and put a ‘0’ in the score sheet against the respective entry)
  • Based on the scores, a shortlist will be finalised for each category for consideration in the final round.

Part 2:

  • The entire panel of the Jury members will judge the short listed entries for each of the categories
  • There will be show of hands to decide the award.
  • The jury Chairman will facilitate a discussion on specific entries.
