The War between Rin and Tide continues

Afaqs: The war between rin and ride continues with HUL requesting the court to ask P&G to drop the name “naturals” not only from the advertisement but also from the product. It claims that Tide does not use any natural ingredients to call it as “naturals”.

The HUL petition quotes, “It is a well known fact that mere addition of fragrances cannot deliver any softness benefit or ease the washing to provide best clean.” HUL is trying hard to convince the court that Tide does not contain any lime or chandan.

Since Tide entered the market in 1998, it has been a tough competitor for Rin. The brand has well captured a huge market and enjoys a value share that is double of Rin.
