Paa outshines everyone!

R Balki’s Paa was in the limelight for a very long time and ended up sytealing the show at the 16th Annual STAR Screen Awards, by bagging awards for best performances and was also nominated for the Best Director category.

Amitabh Bachchan bagged the Best Actor (Male) award for his impeccable performance as 12 year old Auro, who suffered from progeria. His performance won him acclaim from audiences and critics as well. At the 2005 STAR Screen Awards, Bachchan received the same honour for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black. His first film with Balki, Cheeni Kum also won him the Best Actor Award (Critics) in 2007.

Vidya Balan bagged her first Best Actor (Female) award for Auro’s single mother and  Arundhati Nag, who played Auro’s grandmother won the Best Supporting Actor (Female) award.

Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots bagged the award for Best Film and Best Director.
