The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) issued a showcause notice to Hindi GEC Colors on October 26, 2009. MIB has taken objection to the content being telecast in the reality show ‘Bigg Boss Season 3’and has given Colors five days to reply to the notice.
According to the notice, MIB feels the show had “telecast and re-telecast certain parts, which offended good taste and decency and were not suitable for unrestricted public exhibition” and hence has asked the channel not to carry any content that is violation of the programme code as mentioned in the Cable TV Networks (Regulation) Act 1995.
The notice further said that the “language used by some participants is vulgar and abusive and the show contains visuals, which appear to be obscene and violative of Programme Code”.
