James Murdoch, Chairman & Chief Executive of News Corp is currently in India to review the Indian operations of the organisation and is expected to stay here for most of the week.
If sources are to be believed, various teams at STAR India had been preparing business specific presentations for review by Murdoch. STAR India has been among the top contributors to News Corp’s growth and profitability in Asia.
This is Murdoch’s first visit after the regional restructuring of the business. Previously he had played a key role in the growth and success of STAR India in the early 2000, before moving on to News Corp’s international operations. The restructuring will see him again directly control the Asia broadcasting business of News Corp.
