Big 92.7 FM has roped in Raj Kambhoj as director, rural activation. He will be reporting to Rabe Iyer, business head, allied business, Big 92.7 FM.
Kambhoj who has more than 14 years of experience in conceptualising events and creating multi-brand properties will spearhead the radio station’s rural activation wing. Given the network of Big 92.7 FM, spread across 50,000 villages, 45 cities and 1,000 towns of the country, his main area of focus will be to create rural activation properties and conceptualise events, which will be amplified on radio.
On this new appointment Iyer said, “Kambhoj, with his rich experience and in depth knowledge of rural India, brings tremendous value to the business. Given our network strength spread across a large number of Tier II and III cities, it is only natural that we optimise the value being offered to clients.”
Kambhoj will aim to optimise business opportunities by tapping the 193 districts covered by Big FM, which claims to touch almost 200 million Indians across the country.
Iyer further added,” The business potential of activations is immense but largely untapped. Kambhoj’s entry is sure to help us reach out to larger audiences and offer clients various platforms to be able to reach out to the consumer. We welcome him on board and are confident of this business wing yielding high returns.”
Earlier, Kambhoj has worked with activation companies such as OgilvyAction (Outreach), Starcom Xpanse Asia and Showtime Events. Sources at the radio station inform that with his enormous experience, he brings to the table a sound understanding of rural India in terms of physical environment, lifestyles, retail environment and their implications on the communication strategies and solutions.
