Aegis Media, the Media communications firm has come up with two key management changes. Anupriya Acharya, after a year-long sabbatical, has joined Aegis Media as CEO, Singapore branch. Anupriya replaces Arun Kumar, who has moved on to a regional role as director, digital operations.
Kumar has been working with Aegis since June 2007 and was promoted from his position as regional account director at Isobar, to CEO, Singapore in November 2008.
Prior to joining Aegis Media, Acharya worked with TME as president. She was responsible for re-launching TME with the proposition, Customised Solutions. She also started the unit for non-traditional media solutions, 360 Degrees, and the interactive TME website.
Before joining TME, she was with GroupM, where she set up mConsult, GroupM’s marketing communication consulting venture. She has worked with clients such as Unilever, Colgate, Citibank, Indian Oil, Nestlé ad Reckitt Benckiser through her career.
On her new venture Acharya said, “Aegis is a strong group and I am looking forward to driving it into newer markets. Moreover, with Aegis’ recent Nokia win, there are greater opportunities ahead.”
Ashish Bhasin, chairman India and CE, South East Asia, Aegis Media, said in a press statement, “Acharya’s extensive experience in media will help enormously in continuing to grow the Singapore office and build on the success of existing clients.”
Bhasin adds that Kumar will help strengthen Aegis’ digital and search offering in the region and in key markets such as China.
Commenting on his appointment Kumar said, “Digital and search will be the most important growth drivers for Aegis Media and I’m keen to develop our capabilities in this space,”
