Law & Kenneth Mumbai has roped in Delna Patel as executive creative director. Prior to joining Law & Kenneth Patel was the group creative director in Lowe Lintas.
At Law & Kenneth, Patel will work on the ITC beauty portfolio, which includes brands such as Fiama Di Wills and Vivel Di Wills. She will report directly to Praveen Kenneth, the co-founder of the agency.
The last ECD at the agency was K Subramanium, who left in 2007. After that, the agency wasn’t looking out for someone to fill the post, until the past few months. Anil S Nair, president, Law & Kenneth said, “We did not want to get just a good scriptwriter or just a good art person. We wanted someone who would have the right temperament as well”.
Patel has a degree in film direction from NY University. She started out with Contract Advertising as a trainee and moved out after one-and-a-half years as copy supervisor. She then joined Ambience (now Publicis Ambience) as copy supervisor. She spent five years there, before moving out as a group head.
Her next stint was with Lowe Lintas, which she joined as an associate creative director. She spent eight years at the agency, before joining Law & Kenneth.
In the 13 years of her career, Patel has worked on a plethora of brands, including Lakmé, Fair & Lovely, Croma, Ginger, Femina, Bajaj Auto, Whisper, Westside, Shoppers Stop, Tata Tea and ICICI Prudential.
Patel says that she always wanted to be a filmmaker, but landed up in advertising, as she went on getting offers from advertising.
