Raghu Venkatraman has joined TME as National Strategy Head, replacing the position that was left vacant post the exit of Sushma Jhaveri. Venkatraman comes in with 16 years of experience.
He had begun his career with Ogilvy, where he was handling planning on Unilever brands. Subsequently, he worked on brands like Forhans, Bajaj, ICICI and Intel, among others.
Confirming the development, Divya Radhakrishnan, President, TME, said, “With this background, Raghu will lead the strategic output of TME in its approach to consumer connect with our unique offering of ‘Market Contact planning’. We have developed an indigenous tool-deck, which not only covers strategic planning tools, but also implementation and productivity tools. Being part of Rediffusion Y&R group, TME has advantage of being the only media agency with in-house capabilities in Creative, Direct Marketing, Out-of-home, PR and Events.”
Venkatraman has had experience in the digital space as well during his tenure at cricinfo.com, following which he moved to ESPN-STAR Sports, doing TV channel planning. During his stint at ESPN-STAR Sports, he was part of the core team that launched Mobile ESPN in India. In his last assignment, Venkatraman was VP – Strategy at OOH – (Focus Media of China), where his key task is developing multiple quantitative and qualitative research modules with a challenge to market a medium where standard research is not available.
