Bhaskar, NDTV, Matrubhumi & Eenadu join hands

Some of the leading media companies across the country have joined hands and made an effort to break down boundary and language barriers between geographically distant states of India and agreed to share content on the General Elections 2009.

The companies include Dainik Bhaskar, NDTV, Matrubhumi, Eenadu and Prabhat Khabar.

K Yatish Rajawat, editor-in-chief, Business Bhaskar, said, “Objective is to present an unbiased report from the grass roots of these states of India, which could not have been possible otherwise. We hope that with Dainik Bhaskar’s philosophy and un-deviated political analysis, we will be able to provide reports and news which will not be available elsewhere and connect to our readers in a better way.”

Dainik Bhaskar will share its election coverage of Madhya Pradesh with its partners, while the Telugu daily, Eenadu, will share content from Andhra Pradesh; Malayalam daily, Matrubhumi, will contribute content from Kerala and Hindi daily, Prabhat Khabar, from Bihar and Jharkhand; and NDTV from other states.

The aim behind these publications coming together is to present authentic views, analysis and reports of the Elections 2009 from across the country with local insights. With a strong presence and reach in their respective states, these media groups will act as pivots for getting the ground realities from these states which will be compiled and propagated through the their local as well as nationwide networks, thereby covering the entire India.

Meanwhile, Bhaskar has started another editorial campaign, called ‘Ab Ungli Par Tilak Bhavishya Ke Liye’. The name takes its extension from the ‘Dry Tilak’ campaign for Dry Holi, initiated by Bhaskar. The ‘Ab Ungli Par Tilak Bhavishya Ke Liye’ campaign strives to urge voters not only to vote but to elect the right candidate.

As a part of the campaign, there will be columns “by and for the youth”, such as ‘My First Vote’ and ‘What I lose by not voting’, which will feature articles, paintings, cartoons, and comments contributed by the youth.
