Indian agencies won 27 metals at the AdFest 2009, held in Pattaya, Thailand from March 19-21. Leo Burnett India topped the list with 11 metals, followed by McCann Erickson and JWT India (four each), Rediffusion Y&R and O&M India (two each), Contract, Creativeland Asia, TBWA\India and Publicis (one each).
Leo Burnett came away with six Silvers for Bajaj Exhaust Fans in Poster Lotus and Press Lotus in the sub-category of Single and Campaign for Best of Home Appliances & Furnishings, respectively, for the work titled ‘Bajaj Exhaust Fans Kitchen’ and ‘Bajaj Exhaust Fans’.
The agency also won five Bronzes for Bajaj Exhaust Fans for the work titled ‘Babyroom’ in Poster and Press Lotus for Single Best of Home Appliances & Furnishings; Luxor Highlighter Pens in Press Lotus in Campaign for Best of Business Equipment category; Tide Detergents in Print Lotus for Best of Photography and Film Lotus for Best of Household Products and Maintenance category.
JWT India picked up a Lotus Roots Film Craft Gold and two Silvers in Film and Music for their work for The Times of India titled ‘A Day in the Life of Chennai’. The agency also won a Silver in Film and a Bronze in Film Craft for their work entitled ‘Arjuna, the Archer’ for Sulekha.com.
McCann Erickson won three Silvers for Maha Thanda Tel (Cooling oil) in Print Craft Lotus for Best Use of Illusion sub-category. The agency also came away with a Bronze for the work on Symbol Freelife Raster for Design Lotus in Best of Collateral Design sub-category.
Rediffusion Y&R won a Gold for its work on Seventymm in the category of Radio Lotus, sub-category of Best of Retail. In the Radio Lotus category, the agency also won a Silver for Vandana American India Foundation in the sub-category of Best of Social Engagements.
Ogilvy & Mather bagged a Silver in Campaign Best of Corporate Identity for its work for Art Restoration Service. It also won a Bronze in Best of Graphic Design for its work for the Short Film Festival.
