Jishnu Sen has been promoted to chief operating officer (COO), Grey India, having been the branch head of the Mumbai office since 2007.
Sen will be based in Mumbai and will report to Nirvik Singh, chairman, APAC, Grey Group, and Sameer Mutreja, managing director, G2 Rams. Grey recently promoted Nirvik Singh to chief executive officer of the APAC region.
Sen will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the agency’s business. His mandate will be to lead a team of committed individuals and improve the services offered by the agency in order to make Grey India the first choice for marketers and advertising professionals.
Sen commented on his new role, “I look forward to partnering with the team in creating powerful brand ideas grounded in consumer understanding that has a single minded objective – to help our clients win in the marketplace. I will continue to champion the cause of an integrated brand approach involving above and below the line communication mediums like digital, activation, events, retail and public relations.”
Nirvik Singh said, “Jishnu, who joined us two years ago, has been at the helm of the Mumbai operations. Under his leadership, the office has seen tremendous growth in revenue and talent and has handled clients like Audi, P&G, Bharti Axa, Suzlon, Ambuja, Parle Products, ITC, and Indian Oil, to name a few.”
Singh continues, “As a passionate communication professional, he has worked towards an environment that focuses on brands holistically. I have no doubt that his multi-cultural experience across the globe will enrich the Grey India environment.”
Sen has more than twenty years’ experience in the advertising industry and has worked on brands such as Colgate, Pepsi, Pizza Hut, ESPN, Star Sports and the Indian Army. Before joining Grey, he was regional client servicing director on the Colgate Palmolive business with Y&R New York. He has also held several positions in JWT and Rediffusion Y&R in India, Singapore, Hong Kong and the US.
