Narayan Kumar, Executive Director and Head of Disruption Practice at TBWA, India, has quit his post at TBWA, India as Executive Director (ED).
He has confirmed his resignation, but refused to disclose his future plans. His departure comes close on the heels of Senior Creative Director Sean Colaco and Gopinath Menon moving out from the agency.
Kumar had joined TBWA, India in 2004 as Executive Creative Director, and in 2006 he was re-designated as Executive Director and Head of the agency’s Disruption Practice.
Kumar said that his next move was still not decided as there were several options that he was mulling over. However, he did mention that his next destination would be within the advertising industry itself.
There are speculations that Sourabh Mishra, Chief Strategy Officer, TBWA, India would be taking on the additional responsibility of Kumar’s role. However, Shiv Sethuraman, CEO, TBWA, India, denied the news and said, “We will be definitely looking out to fill in the shoes of Narayan Kumar and as of now, Narayan is serving a month-long notice period with us. So, till then we may have identified somebody. As for Sourabh, he is the Chief Strategy Officer and will continue to assume that responsibility.”
