TBWA, India is drawing stress on the creative component of the agency. Eventhough the agency had recently suffered the loss of some of its creative hands, it has been quick to add to the division.
The latest news expected from the agency is the appointment of former Lowe employee Rahul Sengupta as National Creative Director. TBWA officials were not available for comments at the time of filing the report, but reliable sources informed that the announcement was expected soon.
The other recent appointments at the agency are Ambareesh Chakraborty, Anirban Sen and Mayur Hola, who have been given charge of the creative operations at TBWA, India for their respective regions. At the same time, TBWA has seen the exit of people like Narayan Kumar, Executive Director and Head of Disruption Practice; Senior Creative Director Sean Colaco and Gopinath Menon.
Sengupta would strengthen TBWA, India’s creative quotient. Prior to this, he was associated with Madbox as a partner, which dealt in creative television content. Before that, he was associated with Lowe India as Executive Creative Director (ECD) and was with the agency for 11 years. Sengupta had started his career with Mudra in 1993.
In a previous interview, Shiv Sethuraman, CEO, TBWA, India, had mentioned that among the many areas that would see focus from the agency, creative division topped the list. The recent moves appear to be the right steps in that direction.
