The All India Management Association (AIMA) has announced its new office bearers for the year 2008-09. Srinivasan K Swamy, chairman, RK Swamy/Hansa Group, has been elected president.
Swamy succeeds Kewal Handa and will lead the organisation’s mission by working with an experienced team of senior officials to help build managerial excellence in India.
Commenting on his appointed, Swamy said, “AIMA is a knowledge organisation that facilitates organisations and individuals to realise their potential optimally. I’m very delighted to be associated with this esteemed knowledge body and look forward to facilitating AIMA achieve its objectives in an effective way.”
Sanjiv Goenka, vice-chairman, RPG Enterprises, has been elected as senior vice-president of AIMA, while chairman & CEO of Avantha Group, Gautam Thapar, is the AIMA vice-president.
Ever since its inception in 1957 AIMA has played an important role in the growth of management thought processes in the country. AIMA is the apex body of management profession in the country with 60 local management associations affiliated to it. Its activities include distance management education, management development programmes, national events, competitions, research, publication and testing services.
